You are invited to begin a journey of self-discovery, self-development, and healing by participating in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR). MBSR is a unique stress reduction intervention that was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. The 8-week program trains individuals in a class-like setting in the daily discipline of mindfulness and its applications to everyday life. Instruction is given in non-denominational relaxation, meditation, and yoga.
MBSR has been offered for over 20 years at major medical centers around the world and was featured in Bill Moyer's “Healing and the Mind” PBS series. MBSR courses are taught in Little Rock by UAMS faculty member, Dr. Sandra Pope, and her colleagues, Mary Horne and Phebe Duff.
The MBSR course consists of 8 weekly sessions which meet for 2.5 hours and one all day session on Saturday in the sixth week of the course.
